Greetings Commander Padrón and members of the 24th Flotille,Commander Padrón escribió:Dear Kapt Lehmann,
It is a great pleasure to discover that you have registered in 24th Flotilla’s forum.
I would like to welcome you on behalf of our First Commander Beltza, and this community’s every Staff and Command member.
I would like you to know that the 24th Flotilla is a combat unit which holds a great number of Spanish-speaking commanders. This Flotilla is also a member of the Wolfpack League. We started with the simulation game Silent Hunter II, now we play Silent Hunter III, just waiting for what it is going to happen with Silent Hunter IV, a game that we consider to be quite far away from our expectations.
This forum exists since February 2002, so we have just celebrated our 5th year of continuous activity, and is also a meeting point for every submarine/sea warfare lover. Especially to those who like to center on the 1939-1945 time period.
The arrival of GWX and its many virtues make Silent Hunter III appear like a totally new and fascinating game. Thus, we have recently decided to implement GWX so that our official Seekrieg championships are played with this mod. Our championships include single and multiplayer games, and GWX will be the official setting for both of them.
One of the members from our community, Pokara06, has developed a mod compatible with GWX, known as “Spawolf”, whose base is (among a few others) a Spanish translation of GWX. Besides, our Translation Office (one of the departments of our community, devoted to translating to Spanish everything related to the interest of the community) is working in this very moment on the translation of every GWX’s radio message, making it possible to our Spanish-speaking commanders to play GWX on their own language. I would like to remind you that 24th Flotilla is the community that translated Silent Hunter III to Spanish. Just like we did with Silent Hunter II, so our experience on this field is quite ample.
From this very moment, I would like to offer you the warm greeting and respect from our entire community. Furthermore, I would like to offer you our gratitude, since it is an invaluable movement from you and your development team to make such an enormous task as it is to obtain this high quality product… Besides, to offer it freely to simulation fans. We are all extremely thankful on this courtesy and generosity of yours and so we value GWX, giving it (and you) all the credit you deserve.
We hope to keep on receiving your visits, and you can count on us keeping you informed on the progress of our combat activities under GWX.
Greetings,
Jorge Luis “Caminante” Padrón
Command Member
GEM Chief (Mission Edition Team)
Thank you for the warm welcome. I apologize for taking so long to respond to your kind letter. (I had a hard work week-end.)
I want you to know that having chosen GWX as your official mod package is a great honor for our crew. We understand that you represent the majority of Spanish-speaking Silent Hunter III fans. Congratulations on your FIFTH ANNIVERSARY!!!

The GWX mod is the culmination of approximately two years of work, stress, and sleepless nights by many good people... and indeed hundreds of smaller contributions from Silent Hunter fans around the world. However, I cannot accept any credit... without mentioning the fine soldiers on the GWX development team.

Hopefully, the work we have done will push World War II submarine simulations into breaking new ground in the years to come. Hopefully, one day we can launch Silent Hunter 7 or 8 ... and choose any major submarine from any nation.
Building GWX has been incredibly challenging... Many have tried to discredit our work... but often creation is forged in fire. Therefore, it is often your enemy that makes you stronger in the end.
Please wish us luck though... we are still climbing the mountain. As of Monday April 23, our team is officially going back to work on GWX version 1.04 for Silent Hunter III. There will be much new content, and many more weeks of trial. Indeed since the release of Silent Hunter 4, our team is smaller than before. We are naturally unable to say exactly when version 1.04 will be finished, but we promise to shock you again. :O)
Please pass our SALUTE! to Pokara06. I have spoken with him before at Subsim.com and he is a good man. Translating is hard work... and we are happy to share our completed works with the entire world.
Again, thank you kindly for your good words. Hopefully, it is occasions like this that will shrink our world enough to make humanity understand that in most ways we are all the same. Hopefully, it is occasions like these that will prevent the next great war... and give all of yesterday's sacrifice meaning... for all nations. It makes each of us a part of the solution... and not part of the problem.
To quote KKpt. Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock, "All you need is good men!"
I must go back to work with the team now. Sailors of the 24th Flotille, from our crew... to your crew... Sink them ALL!!!
