Re: DCS: Updates....

Han añadido de calentador de queroseno KO-50 al Mi-8 para condiciones de engelamiento y ventilación.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2 ... stcount=26
News No.3

Fully implemented model of KO-50 kerosene powered defroster.
KO-50 kerosene powered defroster is installed on a right hand side outside cargo compartment to the fore of fuel tank and is covered by special nacelle.

Imagen

KO-50 kerosene powered defroster is designed to heat up the air supplied to helicopter compartments.

Imagen

KO-50 controls are located at the pilots’ right electric board.

Imagen

Imagen

The TV-1 thermometer designated for control of air temperature in passengers’ compartment is located at the right dash board.

Imagen

It’s recommended to turn on the KO-50 in “heating mode” having OAT/FAT below +10°C while engines running on the ground or using ground electric power, in flight at any time for except autorotation mode.

There are no limitations running KO-50 in “ventilation” mode.

1. Start up and usage of defroster in automatic temperature adjustment mode.
To start defroster in mentioned mode it is needed to:
1. Turn on DC power.
2. Turn on "KO-50" switch.
3. Set temperature selector to +30°С.
4. Set mode selector switch to "автомат"(auto) position.
5. Press and hold for 2–3 seconds the "запуск"(start) button.

Fuel preheater starts to function, a yellow annunciator panel “ПОДОГРЕВ ТОПЛИВА”(fuel preheating) lights up. When fuel temperature reaches 70 ±50°С (preheating time 35 ±15 seconds) fuel preheater turns off automatically, yellow annunciator panel “ПОДОГРЕВ ТОПЛИВА” goes dark. Simultaneously with fuel preheater shut down heater ignition and electric fan systems gets turned on. To annunciator panels lights up: yellow – “ЗАЖИГАНИЕ”(ignition), green – “ОБОГРЕВАТЕЛЬ РАБОТАЕТ НОРМАЛЬНО”(defroster functions normally). The annunciator panel “ЗАЖИГАНИЕ”(ignition) should go dark not later than after 2 minutes counting from "запуск"(start) button gets pressed. Defrosted is to be considered functioning when yellow annunciator panel “ЗАЖИГАНИЕ”(ignition) goes dark and green annunciator panel “ОБОГРЕВАТЕЛЬ РАБОТАЕТ НОРМАЛЬНО”(defroster functions normally) stays lit. After defroster start required temperature for helicopter compartments to be set using temperature selector switch.

2. Start up and usage of defroster in manual temperature adjustment mode.
Set “ЗАЛИВКА –ПОЛНЫЙ РЕЖИМ –СРЕДНИЙ РЕЖИМ”(priming – maximum mode – half mode) mode selector switch to “ПОЛНЫЙ РЕЖИМ”(maximum mode) position (having OAT/FAT lower than -13°С) or “СРЕДНИЙ РЕЖИМ”(half mode) (-13°С to +15°С).

To start defroster in mentioned mode it is needed to:
1. Turn on DC power.
2. Turn on "KO-50" switch.
3. Set temperature selector to any position.
4. Select “ПОЛНЫЙ РЕЖИМ –СРЕДНИЙ РЕЖИМ”(maximum mode - half mode) mode using switch located on a right dash board.
5. Set mode selector switch to "ручной"(manual) position.
6. Press and hold for 2–3 seconds the "запуск"(start) button.

Further equipment functioning it similar to start up in automatic mode.
Defroster function in ventilation mode.
When using defroster for cabin ventilation in summer time turn on KO-50 switch and “ВЕНТИЛ.”(fan) switch to on position.

Turning off KO-50 defroster.
To turn off defroster set mode selector switch to neutral position. Green annunciator panel “ОБОГРЕВАТЕЛЬ РАБОТАЕТ НОРМАЛЬНО”(defroster functions normally) goes dark. But fan still stays on. Air supplied by fan eliminates fuel from combustion chamber, cools down calorifier. Fan gets turned off by automatic temperature sensor when temperature of air coming from defroster drops below +50°C.

I wish You all to have a nice and warm flight in winter conditions! :)

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143732
Hey Guys,

I thought I would do an update post for people to give you all an idea of what work is progressing and where on our various projects…Seeing as we have so many it’s easier to do one post with the updates, I will then attach a few renders/screenshots over the coming days of where things are at.

So time for some updates on the warbirds and consumer facing products from me and the guys.

So Duxford…

Anyone that came to see us at Duxford had the opportunity to try out our EFM demonstration with the Edge 540, before anyone asks yes it does have its own clickable pit etc and is running on our ASM code as well. I love flying that little plane and we wanted to put something out that people could come and throw around the sky and really experience the excellent work that our programmers have been doing. I don’t have any confirmed release plans for this yet (if at all) but it is something I will seriously look into come the back end of the year.

P-40F

The model is now complete and the damage model is currently being worked on, I have seen a lot of the work that is going on and I can assure you that the damage is as much model as it is texture and I love the way that it looks beaten up, That said I hope to see more P-40’s in one piece then smashed online!

We have agreement from The Fighter Collection to obtain sound recordings from their P-40F for the sim and will be doing those recordings in the coming weeks. The aircraft is in sim, on our EFM and ASM. It is not yet complete but work is progressing well, this was one of the reasons we worked on the Edge 540 so we could trial a few things, this has sped up a lot of the back end fiddly work on the P-40. The engine modelling is simply stunning, I can’t wait to show you guys some of the cool things that have been implemented.

Textures are being worked on and the external is pretty much done now the internal is speeding along and people will be pleased to know that it is a good step up from the Hawk textures and I am really fond of them, I’ll grab some screenies of these when I can.

So, When? Well my goal is to be showing a pretty much beta ready aircraft in July, then pending final bug testing I am hoping to get this bird on the road to download over the back end of the summer. Yes I know it’s a little late, but I think you will all be blown away with the level of detail and work that has been done on P-40.

We also have quite a few sessions booked with Real P-40F pilots to test the sim prior to release to ensure the best experience for you possible. If they say it’s good then it must be good

More info in the build up to Legends in July

Bearcat

The model is pretty much finished, sadly our modeller for the Bearcat was severely ill during the backend of 2014 which has delayed us abit. I have always said that VEAO is a family unit and when one of our guys is unwell I made the decision that we would not take his work away from him and we would allow him to complete it. James, you know we are there for you mate.

Other than this, the ASM and EFM prelims are well progressed including the engine being programmed already, I expect major progress to be made on this during July and August.

Vampire

The External model is complete and cockpit is almost done, once again the systems have been done in their basic form and the EFM is on its way as well. We are optimising the model abit as the external was a little poly hungry so it’s having a slight rework to improve performance as it was a little fps hungry. This should be done in the next couple of weeks, then it’s off to the texture artists to work on. Again I am expecting serious visible progress to be made on this over the wind down from the summer. But it is progressing well.

Meteor

Model is finished and in sim, purring nicely as anyone who saw our showcase will attest to. Its ahead of Vampire in terms or working on ASM and EFM and its gone into the paint shop for work. More details on Meteor will come out after Legends, but I am expecting this to be making some kind of appearance before the end of the year.

Prelim work on all the major systems has been done, as has the basic EFM handling, we need to arrange to get it in front of a couple of real Meteor pilots that I know and we will be able to give more feedback then as to how much work we have to do to fix any issues they find with it. We are also looking into the GGS gun sight as well, which is proving an interesting challenge!

Spitfire XIV

Work has been delayed by the P-40F running late, but I am not going to say too much about this bird other than if you can come to Legends in July I recommend it

It won’t be released at Legends but you will know/see more for sure.

Wildcat

Well this one is something that we are working on but we haven’t officially announced it yet, I am adding it here as someone is bound to ask about it, Model is finished, internally and externally, ASM and EFM are coming along well, including the Shotgun Start! But no news on release plans or announcements yet, Sorry!

Buchon

We have had a few issues with some specs for the aircraft, Different builds, engines, time periods, real aircraft being hybrids and cross breeds over the years. We have a better set of plans and references now, Expect more new on Buchon September-October time.

So What else have we been doing? Well other than the shows at Duxford we have also been working hard with the RAF for Typhoon, obtaining references and tech documents for that, Hawk bug fixing has taken up a fair chunk of time as well as doing private demos for non public releases and prepping for P-40F release. We are all working very hard, I do ask people to treat the guys with respect, we are all doing this as a side job to our day jobs. No one in VEAO is doing this full time work yet.

I will update you guys again with more news as/when I have some to share.

All the best

Pman

Re: DCS: Updates....

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143832
In case you missed this in the other thread...

Anyway, with Typhoon as you can imagine we had to do a lot of research and discussions on what we could include in the public version compared to the military version.
We now have a very firm outline of what that is.
That is currently being produced into a sort of schematic project plan.
At the same time we are exploring what DCS can and can't do with regards to systems and what our team has knowledge with and what other teams have knowledge with and if we're not sure we'll reach out to our friends in other development teams for pointers and help.
We're also looking at what technology is already available; TAD, TGP, Etc. from the A-10C and what we can use changing some symbology.

Following our last trip to Conningsby we decided to completely re-model the external and internal cockpit models. The old model was one we developed for a project for the RAF back in 2009 and was not up to current DCS levels.
Once I receive the cockpit model I will implement the switch test system, as I did with Hawk which sets the foundation for the advanced system model (ASM).
This helps and aids the programmers in checking code for functions and in something like Typhoon is essential.
Hawk has over 170 switches, buttons and dials. Typhoon has many more with multiple functions in each MHDD push button for example.
So the foundation needs to be right the first time.
The base flight model (EFM) has already started to be worked on and will be tweaked once we have the model.
Animations of external and internal flight model will start when the model is complete.

One feature of the MHDD's is they change automatically based in a set of parameters; aircraft start up, taxi, take off, combat, Etc..
Again we are researching how best to implement that in DCS.

All new areas not done before in DCS...

So, when will it be out. To be honest when it's ready...my aim is by end of this year but we'll see when we start getting into systems code and the hundreds of pages for the MHDD's.

This is currently our biggest project, in line with the NH-90 for systems functionality and we can share a lot between the two aircraft.

We are also looking to see if we can create a base template for all-glass cockpit systems; unlikely but if we can it will save time in future military and public projects.

Hope that's enough of an update for you

Thanks,
Chris.

Re: DCS: Updates....

Ok, por fin, despues de mucho tiempo de espera, los beta testers externos tienen ya NTTR y DCS: W 2 en sus manos. Por supuesto, no hay fechas de salida todavia.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2 ... count=2039
A little update:

Today we reached a significant milestone of moving the NTTR map into full internal testing such that our external testers can now pound on it.

There are still several blocking bugs, but we are working hard to resolve them has fast as we can.

As mentioned in the first post of this thread, let's all try to keep on topic please.

Thanks
