La suma de las dos noches seria el mayor holocausato sufrido por los ingleses en el mar, en tan solo dos acciones casi conjuntas, durante toda la contienda.La noche de los cuchillos largos habia finalizado para gloria de la Ubottswaffe y amargo pesar para la marina britanica.
