Tras largos meses de morderse los labios por una guerra no declarada contra su pais, Doenitz puede dar la orden de atacar sin restricciones a cualquier unidad americana. Por fin obtendran respuesta aquellos que han estado apoyando descaradamente al enemigo amparandose en una falsa neutralidad. La Ley de Prestamo y Arriendo que cedia 50 destructores a Inglaterra, la ocupacion de Islandia, la ampliacion de la zona de proteccion de aguas y un largo etc, todo ello en contra del Derecho Internacional, se habian visto acompañadas ultimamnte por actos de abierta hostilidad, como la persecucion por parte del USS Greer al U652 del que radio informacion a la marina y aviacion britanicas. Era inevitable que aparecieran incidentes como el torpedeamiento del escolta USS Kearney durante el ataque al SC48,o el hundimiento del USS Reuben James por parte de Topp cuando combatia contra el convoy Ingles HX156. Los propios historiadores americanos Langer y Gleason dirian despues que lo extraño es que estos no hubieran proliferado muchisimo mas, dadas las circunstancias.
El 11 de Diciembre de 1941 Hitler ordenaba atacar a los Estados Unidos. La operacion Paunkeschlag fue diseñada por el Alto Mando en pocos dias. No habia unidades operativas suficientes y solo los submarinos del tipo oceanico podian alcanzar en ese momento las costas americanas. Sin embargo alli fueron enviados los primeros tipos IXC para dar un golpe sorpresa que resulto total. Al llegar a la zona de operaciones se encontraron el mismo clima que reinaba antes de la guerra: luces costeras en todas las poblaciones, trafico de mercantes aislados, falta de patrullas suficientes... incluso las salidas y llegadas de los transportes maritimos eran anunciadas por radio en emisoras comerciales sin ningun tipo de precaucion. Los comandantes Zapp, en el U66 y Kals, en el U130, se dirigen hacia la costa en su primera noche de ataque dispuestos a aprovechar tan inmejorables venajas. La segunda epoca dorada de los submarinos alemanes acaba de comenzar. En ella inflingiran a los Estados Unios la mayor derrota naval que han registrado en su historia.

OBJETIVOS PRINCIPALES:
Los destructores deben proteger los mercantes sueltos.
Los submarinos deben evitar que al menos 22.500 Tns de transportes lleguen a su destino.

COMBINACIONES DE JUGADORES VALIDAS:

La misión finaliza en el mismo instante que se de cualquiera de estas circunstancias:
a) Hundimiento de los dos subs
b) Hundimiento de los dos Dd comandados por humanos
c) A las 05:30 horas de tiempo del simulador.
d) Por acuerdo de todos los jugadores
USO DE LA COMPRESION DE TIEMPO:
Se recomienda una compresión de tiempo de 4x durante aproximadamente 10 minutos. El uso de compresiones mayores puede alterar el desarrollo de la partida.
Los subs deben bajar la compresión a 1x tras conseguir contacto visual o tener contacto sonar a distancias inferiores a 8000 m y siempre 5 minutos antes de realizar un ataque.
Los Dd deben bajar la compresión a 1x tras conseguir contacto visual, contacto en el sonar, o contactos a menos de 10000 yardas y siempre antes de realizar un ataque.
NORMAS ESPECIFICAS DE LA MISION:
En esta mision, dadas sus caracteristicas, no existen normas de distancia minima. Los submarinos no podran pedir distancia con respecto a los mercantes para finalizar la mision rompiendo el contacto; esta acabara en el tiempo fijado. Los destructores pueden moverse con total libertad, pudiendose alejar de los mercantes lo que consideren oportuno.
OBJETIVOS PUNTUABLES (bonus):
Bonus para el escolta que consiga hundir un submarino. Sucesivos hundimientos no supondran bonus adicionales.
CONVOY SEGURO
Se considera convoy seguro si al menos el 55% de los mercantes permanecen operativos al finalizar la mision.
ASIGNACIÓN DE HUNDIMIENTOS
Si un barco tocado por un torpedo se hunde por colisionar con otro buque de superficie, su hundimiento se asignará al submarino que tocó a dicho mercante.
Sólo se considera "fuego amigo" a los hundimientos por colisión de buques que no han sido previamente alcanzados por torpedos.
Si un escolta es hundido por cruzarse voluntariamente con un torpedo disparado a un mercante, su hundimiento se asignará a "fuego amigo" para no penalizar al submarino con la pérdida del tonelaje mercante que pueda tener hasta ese momento.

Era inevitabile che succedessero incidenti come il siluramento della scorta USS Kearney durante l’attacco allo SC48, o l’affondamento dell’USS Reuben James da parte di Toop quando combatteva contro il convoglio inglese HX156. Gli stesi storici americani Langer e Gleason diranno dopo che lo strano è che questi non abbiano proliferato molto di più, date le circostanze.

All’arrivo nella zona d’operazioni si trovarono lo steso clima che regnava prima della guerra: Luci costieri in tutte le città, traffico di mercantili isolati, mancanza di pattuglie… anche l’uscita e l’arrivo dei trasporti marittimi erano annunciati per radio da emittenti commerciali senza nessuna precauzione. I comandanti Zapp, nell’U66 e Kals, nell’U130, si diressero verso la costa nella sua prima notte d’attacco pronti ad approfittare di quest’insuperabile vantaggio. La seconda epoca dorata dei sommergibili tedeschi era appena incominciata. In questa infliggeranno agli Stati Uniti la maggiore sconfitta navale che hanno registrato nella sua storia.

If it is sunk an escort for crossing voluntarily with a torpedo shot at a merchant ship, fire will assign his subsidence to itself to " friend" not to penalize to the submarine with the loss of the merchant tonnage that
